Here is a letter announcing the one-week extension of our active push for this year’s Doing Good in the Neighborhood campaign. We hope our colleagues will consider supporting this effort — all gifts, regardless of size, make a difference!

Dear Colleagues,

I’m writing to announce a one-week extension of our active push for the 2013-14 Doing Good in the Neighborhood campaign.

More than 1,000 employees already have donated in support of schools and non-profits in Durham and the region. Our goal this week is to see 200 more of our colleagues join the effort.

Donations of any size make a difference. If every Duke employee gave at the cost of one coffee per week — roughly $8 per month — we would raise more than $2.4 million for our friends and neighbors in need.

Visit http://doinggood.duke.edu to donate online and to learn more about our combined impact in the community. You can also send an e-mail from your Duke address to doinggood@duke.edu to request a one-time or recurring gift by payroll deduction.

As an extra bonus, all employees who give by November 22 will be entered into drawings for:

–  A football autographed by Coach Cutcliffe
–  A basketball autographed by Coach P
–  A weekend stay for two at the Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club
–  A one-year membership to the Executive Club at the Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club
–  Free flowers every month for a year from Ninth Street Flowers

I hope you’ll consider becoming a part of this Duke effort to make a difference through community-based philanthropy. When we as Duke employees give together, we have a much greater impact than we could alone.

With warm regards,

Phail Wynn, Jr.
Vice President for Durham and Regional Affairs
