Community Care Fund

Donations to the Community Care Fund support the creation of competitive grants to local non-profit organizations for projects that serve a significant and demonstrated community need. Since the fund was created in 2009, dozens of non-profits have received grants ranging from $500 to $4,000 to support innovative and essential programs. As employee contributions to the funds grow, so does the reach and impact of the grant program!

Duke employees who are Doing Good in the Neighborhood donors and who volunteer with an area non-profit can nominate that non-profit for a Community Care Fund grant. Once an eligible employee nominates an agency, we invite that organization to apply for a grant. Nominated organizations are invited annually in August to submit a proposal, and funds are awarded in October.
