About: The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle (BBBST) is to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported, one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. Big Brothers Big Sisters of America is the oldest and most respected mentoring agency in the world, and for over 110 years, it has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to not merely succeed, but to thrive, in life. BBBST was incorporated in 1998, and since then, the agency has served more than 9,500 children in Wake, Durham and Orange counties.
2017-18 DGIN funding will go toward BBBST’s SMART Saturday Academy sessions to purchase materials such as computers and software for hands-on learning projects.
