About: The Boys & Girls Clubs of Durham and Orange Counties provides after-school and life skills programming for children ages 6-18 during after-school and summer camp. Founded in 1939, the Club has been a safe haven for local youth for 78 years. Programs include Knowledge Builders (one-on-one tutoring), Club Tech, Career Launch, alcohol awareness, gang prevention, homework help, Healthy Futures and others.
2017-18 DGIN funding will provide snacks during the school year for the club’s 120 Durham County members and will fund the nonprofit’s yoga program during the spring. The majority of the snacks will be purchased through The Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina.
