About: CASA’s mission is to develop and manage affordable housing, providing opportunities for successful living. Founded in 1992, CASA’s first apartments served people with mental health disabilities living on Raleigh’s streets. Over 25 years, CASA added rental units through new construction and renovation and expanded across Wake, Durham and Orange counties. CASA now owns and operates 490 affordable units across more than 50 properties for low wealth individuals and families.
2017-18 DGIN funding will help with appliance upgrades and parking lot repaving as well as refreshments for tenant events. CASA plans to update appliances as vacancies occur, install landscaping to improve curb appeal, increase shade and enhance a community picnic area, and reseal and restripe asphalt.
