About: The mission of Diaper Bank of NC is based on recognition of widespread diaper need in N.C. and the nonexistent resources currently available to meet that need. Despite the importance of clean diapers to infant health, no government-supported programs consistently provide diapers or assistance in accessing them. Existing safety net programs such as The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) do not cover the
purchase of diapers and other hygiene products. Since June 2015, the Diaper Bank of NC has expanded its operations to address the unmet need for feminine hygiene products in the community.
2017-18 DGIN funding will help provide diapers, diapering supplies, wrapping supplies, research and project management to support Durham Early Head Start families and enhance parental participation.
