About El Futuro:
El Futuro began when a group of volunteer psychiatrists, doctors, social workers and community leaders recognized a need for culturally appropriate mental health and substance abuse care for central North Carolina’s growing Latino population. Meeting during evenings and weekends, this group shared a vision and soon incorporated El Futuro as a nonprofit in 2004.
Our mission is to strengthen the whole community by providing and advancing bilingual and culturally informed behavioral health treatment for underserved Spanish speaking individuals and families. We do this by providing 1) high impact (evidence based) clinical services; 2) training for professionals who work with this population; and 3) prevention, education and outreach in the community.
