433 W Murray Ave Durham, NC 27704

About: Founded in 1946 as the Durham Children’s Museum, today’s Museum of Life and Science has a long and proud history of providing engaging learning environments and experiences across a range of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) disciplines. The Museum’s vision is to change people’s relationship with science so that the region’s children acquire an enduring sense of wonder and awe, the capacity for thinking scientifically, and the desire to learn for a lifetime.

2019-20 DGIN Funding will support Sensory Friendly Events and programming throughout FY20/21. Sensory Friendly events take place in the museum after hours and are designed to provide supportive wellness and learning experiences for individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and to raise awareness and inform general visitors about ASD.
