About: Ronald McDonald House supports families of chronically ill children through hospitality (lodging and meals) as well as through social and emotional support programs. Parents and caregivers are better able to be present for their children’s treatment, improving children’s medical outcomes. In some cases, families would not seek life-saving care at Duke without Ronald McDonald House because it is simply not possible to live in a car or waiting room with patient siblings and other family, without access to affordable food, for extended periods of time.
2017-18 DGIN funding will help adopt one guest room at Ronald McDonald House for one year. A sign placed next to the door will tell guests that their portion of the cost of the room is covered by Duke employees.
