About: Dedicated to ending the cycle of domestic and sexual violence in Wake County, InterAct saves lives, rebuilds lives, and secures safer futures for victims, survivors, and their families. InterAct is Wake County’s only provider of comprehensive services for victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Inspired by the belief that every person has the right to be safe and empowered, InterAct has promoted violence-free relationships and communities through crisis and support services, collaboration, public information, education, and advocacy for over 40 years – with the goal of reaching all victims of domestic and sexual violence from every background and helping empower and support them as survivors in their journeys to achieve violence-free, self-sufficient lives. With a staff of 50+ and 4000+ volunteers, InterAct reaches more than 60,000 Wake County residents every year- 9,700 of whom are direct victims of violence.

2018-19 DGIN Funding will support more Children’s Advocates to provide YES Programming to children throughout Wake County. The Youth Education Services (YES) Program works with Wake County students in grades 3 -12, focusing on developing protective factors that lessen the likelihood they will become involved in domestic/sexual violence later in life.
